Music, from times immemorial, has remained the most important medium of expression of human emotions. Kashmir, Mathura and Varanasi, in the bygone times, were prominent centers for learning art. Due to ravages of time all the written evidence regarding the kind, type and form of music prevalent in Kashmir in the distant past has perished. Kashmir has been a grand arena of arts. There have been poets, dancers, writers, dramatists and musicians, who have attained glory in the literary and art world.

In music world, Kashmiri Pandits, from time to time, have contributed a lot to bring music of Kashmir to a more advanced and organized state. Their achievements have been remarkable and to talk about these achievements of past, gives a sense of pride and pleasure - it rejuvenates the spirit.

This website will make an attempt to provide a glimpse into the wonderful world of Kashmiri Music.
